Major Assignment 2

Analyzing a public text and redesigning it for a better audience fit.

MA2 asked me to examine why a pop-culture text was rhetorically ineffective and then redesign it with a new audience strategy in mind. The project pushed me to think beyond words alone and consider visuals, pacing, and delivery.

Assignment context

This project required two moves: first, identify how an existing pop-culture text was rhetorically weak for its intended audience; second, redesign it so the new version would address those weaknesses more effectively.

That meant analyzing not only wording, but also platform, structure, visual presentation, tone, and the broader context in which the original text circulated.

Reflection

This assignment was different from MA1 because it forced me to think about design and delivery, not just content. I had to be more intentional about pacing and what a viewer would notice first.

If I revised the project again, I would improve accessibility by tightening the opening and adding captions more deliberately.

This is the multimodal part of MA2.
